Adam Edward Brooks
(Film Maker)

Brooks has a background in graphic design and music, where he worked as a professional touring musician for nearly a decade. In 1998, Adam Brooks ripped up his roots in eastern Iowa and move to California with little more than $800 in his pocket and a dream. His strong artistic background has given Brooks the ability to wear many hats in the field, including Producer, Director, Cinematographer, PreVis Animatic Storyboard Artist, Editor and Composer.
Brooks has experienced success with his film efforts. His short film, “Nicki’s Abortion” is currently on the festival circuit where it most recently picked up an award for “Best Short” at the TwistedSpine Film Festival. In 2004, Brooks was chosen one of the top 250 directors by Project Greenlight’s Director Contest based upon a 3 minute excerpt of “The Confession”. Currently, Brooks has several feature screenplays in development and is adapting a novel he optioned about another infamous serial killer: Jack the Ripper.
Brooks has been compared to some of today’s great action directors, including Robert Rodriguez and John Woo. “The Confession” showcases Brooks’ ability to take a dramatic piece and create tension and tell a story with using lighting and audio, rather than complex camera movements. Reviewers of Brooks’ films on TriggerStreet have indicated that he is a rising director to look out for as someone who has classic Hollywood leanings with the fresh style of today’s popular action directors.
